(Zootopia)

Country: US
Technical: col/2.39:1 108m
Director: Byron Howard, Rich Moore, Jared Bush
Cast: Ginnifer Goodwin, Jason Bateman, Idris Elba

Synopsis:

A rabbit journeys to Zootropolis, city of the animal kingdom, with the ambition of becoming the first police officer bunny. She finds entrenched prejudices to be overcome, a fox hustler who becomes her friend, and an outbreak of feral activity among the carnivores of the city.

Review:

Following on from the precedent of Cars in creating a universe, not only from anthropomorphic creations, but also along premises that could never exist in the real world, this unfailingly witty and appealing movie has its own ineffable logic and topical references (not least, the bipedal characters walk around holding phones to their lugholes). The ironic twist, that it is the little guy who gets stepped on that can often be the source of the problem, is particularly pleasing. The sloths, meanwhile, may even get a movie of their own.
