Young Frankenstein (1974)
Country: US
Technical: bw 106m
Director: Mel Brooks
Cast: Gene Wilder, Marty Feldman, Madeline Kahn, Teri Garr, Peter Boyle
Synopsis:
Baron Frankenstein's descendant, weary of jokes and questions about his grandfather's work, journeys to Transylvania in search of his roots. There he finds himself pursuing the family heritage, besides Inga the lab assistant.
Review:
Surely the best of the Brooks parodies for the zest of the writing, enthusiastic advocacy from a talented cast, and a production that at times looks as seriously good as the Universal classics it emulates. There's even a cameo by Gene Hackman as the blind beggar!
