Full of sleazy detail and drug use, Hewitt's glossy nocturnal thriller is nothing if not edgy; its damsels in distress may be filled-out characters, unity of time permitting, but their bodies are quite clearly pointed at a male viewership. It all whips along at a breathless pace, the camera often handheld, but the realism is deceptive and there are holes here and there.
