(X2)

Country: US/CAN
Technical: col/2.39:1 134m
Director: Bryan Singer
Cast: Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Brian Cox, Famke Janssen, Halle Berry, James Marsden, Anna Paquin, Rebecca Romijn, Alan Cumming

Synopsis:

A mutant appears to mount an attempt on the President's life, but in fact is being controlled by Magneto, who wants to precipitate a confrontation with the humans. Meanwhile, Stryker, the man responsible for Wolverine's transformation, is bent on uncovering the location of Xavier's school for mutants, with a similar aim in sight, though with the opposite final objective.

Review:

Overlong and muddily plotted, this sequel fleshes out some of the character arcs while adding new ones but does nothing that its predecessor did not already do passably well. Superheroes with special skills who work together may be a strong moral, however, and one that resonates with the American people: fifteen years later we would still be here; its name was Avengers.
