Wyatt Earp (1994)
Country: US
Technical: col/scope 189m
Director: Lawrence Kasdan
Cast: Kevin Costner, Dennis Quaid, Michael Madsen, Gene Hackman
Synopsis:
The life of the outlaw turned lawman is treated at length, taking the OK corral as its fulcrum and presenting a hero hardened by misfortune and upbringing.
Review:
A necessarily formless narrative which goes for a more fantasia-like effect than Tombstone of the same vintage. The violence is relatively muted, and Earp comes over as a not particularly likeable demi-god, whose lack of an emotional core renders him invulnerable to bullets. Quaid's is the best performance and undoubtedly the best Doc Holliday on film.
