(Vildmænd)

Country: DK
Technical: col 104m
Director: Thomas Daneskov
Cast: Rasmus Bjerg, Zaki Youssef, Bjørn Sundquist, Sofie Gråbøl

Synopsis:

A Danish forty-something runs away to the Norwegian fjords to life off the land in true Viking style. After a few days, however, hunger drives him to rob a convenience store, and his fate becomes interlocked with that of a trio of drug smugglers who hit a moose on the way to catching the ferry.

Review:

Falling Down meets Fargo via Jeremiah Johnson, this Danish black comedy sustains attention thanks to Sundquist's police chief, and takes pot shots at the male mid-life crisis and commercialisation of wilderness culture, but fails to resolve its various threads satisfactorily.
