When Worlds Collide (1951)
Country: US
Technical: col 82m
Director: Rudolph Maté
Cast: Richard Derr, Barbara Rush
Synopsis:
As Earth threatens to collide with an approaching planetary object, selected specimens of human excellence prepare to be flown off to colonise some new world.
Review:
Not one of George Pal's better efforts, this. Basically it doesn't deliver on its title, besides which, the whole film being a countdown, it consists of a great deal of talking while we wait (much of it preachily imbued with Christian dogma). Looks good, though.
