Stan and Ollie are entrusted with the task of delivering the deeds to a gold mine to a surviving daughter, now the ward of an unscrupulous saloon owner in Brushwood Gulch.

Essentially the movie resolves itself into two sustained slapstick sequences: losing the deed and retrieving the deed, the latter of which contains some of the duo's most inspired ideas.
