Waiting to Exhale (1995)
Country: US
Technical: col 121m
Director: Forest Whitaker
Cast: Whitney Huston, Angela Bassett, Loretta Devine, Lela Rochon
Synopsis:
Four upwardly mobile black women friends have man trouble.
Review:
Glossily old-fashioned (cf. The Women) soap opera which essays a number of styles in its various episodes and seems to stake a female claim for the kind of philandering behaviour we see satirized among the male characters. Patchy and overlong, with a dramatic climax which triumphs in a huge divorce settlement and a single motherhood.
