Review:
Some jarring changes in tone flaw Crowe's vanity project, a beautifully made film of beautiful characters which in the end packs its grisly premise in too much sugar coating (a widow in distress, a cute kid, a noble enemy and Indiana Jones-style derring-do) for its 'Inspired by true events' bookends to bear.
