Up the Creek (1958)

£0.00

Country: GB
Technical: bw/scope 83m
Director: Val Guest
Cast: Peter Sellers, David Tomlinson, Wilfred Hyde-White, Vera Day, Liliane Sottane

Synopsis:

During the Cold War, an incompetent Navy lieutenant with a rocket fixation is given a sinecure where he can do no harm: a rusty old destroyer with a skeleton crew on board. They have taken to racketeering with the local publican, but the new Captain is far more interested in the latter's French niece, and his latest rocket invention.

Review:

Standard British comedy of its day, with broad satire and reliable types well deployed. Wide screen is an unnecessary distraction, however.
