Under Fire (1983)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col 127m
Director: Roger Spottiswoode
Cast: Gene Hackman, Nick Nolte, Joanna Cassidy

Synopsis:

A photographer moves from big game in Africa to spy games in El Salvador, in the company of a TV reporter.

Review:

Not as uncompromising as Salvador was to be later, yet still a sober exposé of the extent of CIA dark practices in Central America, this was one of the best Hollywood films of its year. Goldsmith's latin score was one of his best, though it perhaps sums up the commercial compromises that needed to be made for a movie like this to see the light of day.
