Uncommon Valor (1983)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col 105m
Director: Ted Kotcheff
Cast: Gene Hackman, Robert Stack, Fred Ward

Synopsis:

A crack team of soldiers goes back into Vietnam after the close of hostilities to liberate American POWs still in captivity.

Review:

The Wild Geese meets the Vietnam movie; the first time the latter had been used for hokum since The Green Berets, and many of the same ground rules applied: far too long is spent in training camp preparing the audience for displays of mawkishness and cathartic violence later on, by which time we've lost interest. The formula was tried again with Rambo First Blood Part Two a couple of years later, which moved much faster and was at least exciting.
