Ulee's Gold (1997)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: DuArt 111m
Director: Victor Nuñez
Cast: Peter Fonda, Patricia Richardson, Jessica Biel

Synopsis:

A Florida beekeeper with a strong independent spirit, and in mourning for his long dead wife, has a difficult time looking after his two granddaughters while his son is in prison but is helped back to the land of the living by a divorcee doctor and two lowlife accomplices of his son's who want their share of stolen loot.

Review:

Touching mood piece which allows time for its situations to breathe and avoids the clichés of familial drama in the working out of its characters' problems. A fine mature part for an actor whose career was always somewhat underdeveloped, but the local accent is frequently impenetrable.
