The True Story of Puss 'n Boots (2009)

£0.00

(La véritable histoire du Chat Botté)

Country: FR
Technical: col 80m
Director: Jérôme Deschamps, Pascal Hérold
Cast: Voices: Jérôme Deschamps, Yolande Moreau, Louise Wallon

Synopsis:

A miller's son inherits a rather special cat, who helps him get the love of the princess he adores.

Review:

Rather sneaky French attempt to steal the wind from the sails of DreamWorks' highly successful Shrek characterisation (this one does not fence, but there are points in common). Unfortunately, despite beautifully coloured settings and convincingly drawn characters (perhaps too convincing, in the case of the princess, whose upholstered curves cry out to be squeezed), the script never really catches fire.
