Terminator Salvation (2009)

£0.00

Country: US/GER/GB/IT
Technical: Technicolor/2.35:1 115m
Director: McG
Cast: Christian Bale, Sam Worthington, Moon Bloodgood, Helena Bonham Carter, Anton Yelchin

Synopsis:

In 2003 a man is executed by lethal injection, leaving his body to science. Fifteen years later, after Skynet Judgment Day turns humans into resistance fighters, he is awoken by John Connor and sets about discovering who, or what, he is.

Review:

Fast-moving sequel, which respects its forbears more or less, while ignoring the effects of nuclear explosions on human beings and leaving little time for character. All the same, the plight of the central character is a good old science fiction conundrum and has a satisfying conclusion. The desert locations and colour palette make for some attractive and exciting action sequences in the Mad Max tradition, and the original Terminator is referenced overtly in a 'crushed skull shot' and the digital resurrection of a young Arnie as terminator prototype.
