Review:
Sanitised and materialistic look at first love, peddling the myth that steamy sex and even love are possible with a prostitute while relishing the opportunity to put glamorous bodies and sentiment on display for an eager adolescent audience. Fitfully amusing as a sort of 'adult' Ferris Bueller, though the absence of an ironic tone in fact makes it more childish. It did kick-start Cruise's career, though.
