Ride Lonesome (1959)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col/scope 73m
Director: Budd Boetticher
Cast: Randolph Scott, Karen Steele, Pernell Roberts

Synopsis:

A bounty hunter who is taking his quarry to Santa Cruz to face hanging must also contend with attacking Indians, a pair of outlaws minded to relieve him of his bounty, and the brother of the wanted man, himself sought personally by the bounty hunter as the author of a past wrong.

Review:

First-rate B Western, with few pauses in the complex action. The music wears a bit thin by the end, but it looks good and the performers are all in fine form; the hanging tree is a great touch, and the line, 'There are some things a man can't ride around', crops up again, this time spoken by the Scott alter ego, played by Roberts. Typical of the series, the film sums up the 'Ranown cycle' and its characters pretty well.
