Rain Man (1988)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col 133m
Director: Barry Levinson
Cast: Dustin Hoffman, Tom Cruise, Valeria Golino

Synopsis:

A selfish car salesman discovers he has an autistic elder brother, to whom their father has bequeathed all his money. Determined to have his share, he 'kidnaps' Raymond from his institution and they set out across country

Review:

It is not long before we guess that Raymond has in fact merely been rediscovered, and of course throughout the question posed is: aren't we all a little bit autistic? Beautifully handled by Levinson, this Oscar-worthy issue drama is funny without ever laughing 'at' Raymond, and the stars do an excellent job, Cruise no less than Hoffman, in a more attention-grabbing vein.
