Radio Days (1987)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col 85m
Director: Woody Allen
Cast: Mia Farrow, Dianne Wiest, Seth Green

Synopsis:

Woody reminisces about his childhood family life, when songs and acts on the radio held such importance for him. He also tells the story of a young woman who wins a very special night out.

Review:

Anecdotal, nostalgic wallow in the radio of the pre-war and war years, some of it recalling early scenes from Annie Hall, other parts Purple Rose. The general feel is of a fun picture put together by friends, Allen using just about every actor to have been in one of his films, and on the whole the fun is communicated. The commentary, though, is heavy-handed, as if the comedian acknowledges that the nostalgia may not be shared and as a result protests too much.
