The Presidio (1988)
Country: US
Technical: col/scope 98m
Director: Peter Hyams
Cast: Sean Connery, Meg Ryan, Mark Harmon
Synopsis:
A former military policeman is reunited with his erstwhile antagonist, a Colonel at the San Francisco garrison, when a new case overlaps their jurisdictions. Their relationship undergoes further strain when he starts dating the daughter.
Review:
Hyams mounts one or two standard set pieces with his customary flourish, and the settings are as photogenic as ever, but there is little that can be done with a story so weak and leads so lacking in charisma. Connery is clearly on board to add stature, as he did in the same director's Outland.
