The Party (1968)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col/scope 98m
Director: Blake Edwards
Cast: Peter Sellers, Claudine Longet, Marge Champion

Synopsis:

An accident-prone Indian actor just fired from a Hollywood production is inadvertently invited to the producer's house party, where he wreaks well-meaning and mounting havoc.

Review:

A one-joke movie and a very lazy one at that: the opening sequence of prolonged bugle blowing says it all. Much of the star's amiable wanderings at the party recall Jacques Tati on an off day and depend on a stiff and unlikely response from the other guests; a drunken waiter is thrown in to spice up the fun but it is no good.
