Pusher 3 (2005)

£0.00

(I'm the Angel of Death: Pusher III)

Country: DK
Technical: col 104m
Director: Nicolas Winding Refn
Cast: Zlatko Buric, Marinela Dekic, Slavko Labovic

Synopsis:

Croatian restaurateur and drug dealer of Copenhagen, Milo comes centre stage in this third instalment of what amounts to a comprehensive demystification of the underworld reality of a modern liberalised society. Saddled with a kilo of ecstasy instead of heroin on the day he is catering for his daughter's birthday party, Milo divides his time also between offloading the stuff onto a young Turkish tyro and dropping in on his local NA meeting.

Review:

A character we hitherto perceived as merely venal and despicable in the earlier Pushers, here emerges as a fully rounded personality, surprising us by attempting to clean up, while continuing in his illicit activities, playing the genial host at his daughter's party, dutifully popping out for fried fish when his Sarma chicken speciality proves to be toxic, and tugging on a heroin-boosted cigarette to keep his world from tumbling around him. But tumble it does, and in demonstrating that there are limits to which even he will not stoop, he sets the stage for a truly stomach-churning finale where his oldest friend helps him cover his tracks. There are advantages to being in the catering business...
