Predator 2 (1990)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col 108m
Director: Stephen Hopkins
Cast: Danny Glover, Gary Busey, Bill Paxton, Maria Conchita Alonso

Synopsis:

Another creature like the one encountered in the South American jungle makes its way to Los Angeles, where it exploits an all-out war between drug lords and the police for a fresh supply of brains and spinal tissue.

Review:

This unnecessary sequel to a not particularly good original is a ghastly genre hybrid (as if we didn't get enough violent cop pics in the 80s) that epitomises the Hollywood vices of a decade. Loud, profane, glossy yet ugly, and content to purvey violent spectacle as entertainment in itself, this witless Jordan/Silver production does not deign to explain either the presence of the creature in L.A. or its purpose, other than trophy gathering (surely already accomplished). Instead of Arnie we have Glover doing his trademark muttering act, and Busey cast according to type as an FBI jock.
