Popeye (1980)

£0.00

Country: US/MALTA
Technical: col/2.35:1 97m
Director: Robert Altman
Cast: Robin Williams, Shelley Duvall, Ray Walston, Paul Dooley

Synopsis:

Popeye arrives in Sweethaven and adopts a foundling child with Olive Oyl, perhaps to make up for being abandoned by his own Pa.

Review:

Altman may seem a strange choice for this subject, and the film does have trouble quite establishing a tone, not to mention the incomprehensible burbling emanating from Williams' portrayal. However, it may have been unfairly compared with the likes of Superman at the time and be in need of reassessment.
