Poor Cow (1967)

£0.00

Country: GB
Technical: col 101m
Director: Ken Loach
Cast: Carol White, Terence Stamp

Synopsis:

A young woman gets pregnant by a thief who ends up in prison, then takes up with his mate who does the same. A series of casual liaisons follow, until a traumatic event makes her see what is really important.

Review:

Loach's first theatrical film was made on the hoof with funds from the NFFC. Stamp adapts well to the new way of working (improvised dialogue and no retakes), but inevitably it is rough around the edges at times and he is just too goodlooking.
