Pillow Talk (1959)
Country: US
Technical: col/scope 110m
Director: Michael Gordon
Cast: Doris Day, Rock Hudson, Tony Randall, Thelma Ritter
Synopsis:
An interior decorator and a philandering songwriter share a telephone party line and, though they are poles apart, grow to like one another.
Review:
First of the Day-Hudson sex comedies, with more comedy than sex of course. Coyly risqué but strictly for middle American audiences, they provided basically wholesome entertainment in which thirty-something singletons flirted with promiscuity on the road to respectable matrimony. As here, the true delights were to be found in the supporting cast.
