Country: NOR
Technical: col/scope 86m
Director: Nils Gaup
Cast: Mikkel Gaup, Nils Utsi

Synopsis:

In Scandinavia around 1000 AD a family of Lapps is murdered by a brutish band of marauders, who use the surviving teenage son to guide them to the whereabouts of other Lapp tribesmen. But the boy has vengeance in his heart, and knowledge of the land in his favour.

Review:

Elemental, stylish, and shot in gruellingly authentic conditions, this highly exportable Scandinavian 'Western' begins with a homestead massacre and keeps you pinned to your seat in abject terror for the next hour and a half. Exploiting the culture gap between the protagonists well, and the dramatic locations, the film has just the right blend of mysticism and violence.
