Passage to Marseille (1944)
Country: US
Technical: bw 110m
Director: Michael Curtiz
Cast: Humphrey Bogart, Michèle Morgan, Claude Rains, Peter Lorre
Synopsis:
Five convicts are given parole from Devil's Island to fight for the Free French against the 'sale Bosch'.
Review:
Despite the considerable talent at hand, this tribute to the Free French had a script laden with flashbacks, and flashbacks within flashbacks, so that its narrative arc lost all momentum and became becalmed mid-Atlantic, like Noah's.
