Once again, as in the Boileau/Narcejac original that initiated this particular brand of psychological thriller, the apparent ghost is anything but, and we enjoy watching wicked Oliver Reed squirm, while half expecting further wickedness to reveal itself. Fanatic (Die! Die! My Darling!) followed in 1965, and Crescendo still later.
