Northwest Mounted Police (1940)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col 125m
Director: Cecil B. De Mille
Cast: Gary Cooper, Paulette Goddard, Madeleine Carroll

Synopsis:

A Texas Ranger travels to Canada to bring to justice a Métis Frenchman wanted for murder. There he finds himself in the middle of a fight between settlers and Indians, as well as coming between a nurse and her mountie lover.

Review:

Paramount outdoors picture typical of its creator, who returned to the Western more often than one tends to think. This one is full of bad writing and indifferent acting, like much of De Mille's work, but it is also very boring. Coop provides some colourful moments amid the gaudiness, as does the ever brassiere-less Miss Goddard.
