New York, New York (1977)
Country: US
Technical: col/scope 153m
Director: Martin Scorsese
Cast: Robert de Niro, Liza Minnelli, Lionel Stander
Synopsis:
A saxophonist meets a lounge singer on VJ Day in New York, and they begin a turbulent relationship during which their careers nevertheless take off.
Review:
Possibly the most boring two and a half hours one has spent with a movie by a director as great as Scorsese. The characters are meant to be narcissists, which is fine, and the music is good enough, but what was the point? A giant miscalculation, this was the director's Heaven's Gate.
