One in a growing number of movies (Starman, Alien Nation, Red Heat, Crocodile Dundee) in which an outsider comes to terms with human/American eccentricities and concludes that 'we' make up for our basic defectiveness. One or two new jokes, as when Miss Basinger inputs Shakespeare, but the film has little to offer besides her eye-catching form.
