Mrs. Brown (1997)
Country: GB/US/EI
Technical: col 104m
Director: John Madden
Cast: Judi Dench, Billy Connolly, Antony Sher
Synopsis:
The story of the special relationship between the elderly Queen Victoria and her irreverent Scottish gamekeeper.
Review:
Rather like Wilde the same year, this was a part tailor-made for an actor of rather limited range and powerful persona, and Connolly does it brilliantly. In truth, we just love to hear that accent couching a few blunt home truths, and Dench is the perfect foil in this respect, of course.
