Mortelle Randonnée (1983)

£0.00

(Deadly Run)

Country: FR
Technical: col 115m
Director: Claude Miller
Cast: Isabelle Adjani, Michel Serrault, Stéphane Audran

Synopsis:

A detective envied by colleagues for his cold efficiency is assigned the task of following a young woman who, in various disguises, serially murders her would-be lovers.

Review:

Serrault's hard-bitten exterior hides a soft heart; Adjani is the reverse. Their chemistry is largely the charm of this slightly dotty 'policeman in peril' thriller, with Serrault's cracked detective chasing after his pathological 'daughter'. There is some obscurity concerning his character name (l'Oeil - the eye) and the photo he has to 'enter' to find her, but Miller's direction is pacy enough to hold our interest for two hours, and there are some good cameos, notably from an uglified Stéphane Audran.
