Mission: Impossible - Fallout (2018)

£0.00

Country: US/CHI/FR/NOR/GB
Technical: col/2.39:1. 147m
Director: Christopher McQuarrie
Cast: Tom Cruise, Henry Cavill, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Sean Harris, Michelle Monaghan, Alec Baldwin

Synopsis:

Hunt's enemies come to exploit his weakness of focusing on individual loss at the expense of the overriding objective, just as three plutonium cores come onto the international terrorist market and Solomon Kane's freedom is parlayed in exchange.

Review:

This sixth outing in the interminable franchise (with the star out-Bonding any Agent 007 in longevity several times over) certainly offers value for money. As the action sprints from Paris to London to Kashmir, and we frantically keep track of all the cross and double-cross, once cannot help wondering if there aren't just too many rogue agents out there for believability. Never mind, the stunts are as nail-biting as ever, Cruise runs faster than ever, and hops on (and comes off) a motorbike one more time; but it is the human(e) aspect of the story that appeals the most, with the bonds of affection within the team drawing ever closer, and Hunt managing to keep no less than three beautiful women happy simultaneously!
