The Long Duel (1967)
Country: GB
Technical: col/scope 115m
Director: Ken Annakin
Cast: Trevor Howard, Yul Brynner, Harry Andrews, Charlotte Rampling
Synopsis:
Along the North West Frontier, intemperate oppression by the British superintendent fosters banditry, and an army man is called in to lead a counter-insurgency. However, the superintendent's daughter provides the opportunity for a rapprochement between the opposing parties.
Review:
Long is definitely the word. An uninvolving, talky piece frontier drama, with Howard managing to inject some interest but with some pretty stagey exteriors alongside the Andalusian mountainous vistas.
