The Lincoln Lawyer (2011)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col/ 2.35:1 118m
Director: Brad Furman
Cast: Matthew McConaughey, Marisa Tomei, Ryan Phillippe, William H. Macy, John Leguizamo, Michael Peña

Synopsis:

An L.A. Defence lawyer with a reputation for taking less than squeaky clean clients is hired by a rich sicko with a penchant for knifing prostitutes.

Review:

...and who just happens to be guilty of a murder for which the lawyer had a previous client cop a plea. (Or was that the point? I wasn’t sure.) Never mind. This was the movie that finally freed its star from the rom-com/action comedy treadmill, and for that we must be forever grateful. Matt clearly enjoys himself doing his now-familiar Southern charmer, liquor toting, rule bending wide boy act, and Tomei is the not totally estranged wife attorney, so we are spared the domestics. Not exactly a watertight procedural, but very watchable.
