(Crime d'amour)

Country: FR
Technical: col 104m
Director: Alain Corneau
Cast: Kristin Scott Thomas, Ludivine Sagnier, Patrick Mille

Synopsis:

A professional relationship between female executives of a food company turns sour when love and work don't mix.

Review:

For all the director's previous essays in vaguely noir territory (Série noire, le môme), this is an impersonal affair, professionally acted and presented but with few standout scenes or sequences. The black-and-white flashbacks, revealing truths hitherto hidden from us, seem particularly half-baked. Nevertheless, as a chamber drama piece centred around psychological warfare in the workplace, it offers a compelling intrigue for the second half and a satisfying twist.
