Logan's Run (1976)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col/scope 119m
Director: Michael Anderson
Cast: Michael York, Jenny Agutter, Richard Jordan, Farrah Fawcett

Synopsis:

In a society of the future, everyone lives inside a pleasure dome but seems to disappear at thirty. Logan, one of the Sandmen employed to keep order, at first is not preoccupied by his fate, but after a relationship with a more reflective girl he becomes a 'runner', and leaves the dome.

Review:

So-so dystopian fantasy, along the lines of Soylent Green but based on sex and sadism instead of food supply. The only problem is that the plot rests on a hedonistic principle which for the most part must be kept implicit for the desired 'A' rating. (Jenny Agutter is seen topless in an innocent disrobing scene, in a cynical move - she had done it before in Walkabout, after all.)
