Little Fauss and Big Halsy (1970)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col/2.39:1 99m
Director: Sidney J. Furie
Cast: Robert Redford, Michael J. Pollard, Lauren Hutton

Synopsis:

A young mechanic-cum-motorcycle racing enthusiast hitches himself as 'tuner' to a loudmouthed, womanising former pro, and together they tour the championships of Arizona and Southern California. Falling out over a free-spirited young woman, they come back together as competitors.

Review:

Archetypal draft-dodging, freeloading road movie, with all the idealism of the Sixties running dry amid the self-promotion and casual misogyny of the redneck biking fraternity. The scenario is paper thin, Pollard at least is unintelligible, and the only good part is the Johnny cash songs that line the route. Redford plays one of his least likeable characters, essentially a re-tread of Downhill Racer, but the public preferred him in The Way We Were.
