Leon the Pig Farmer (1992)

£0.00

Country: GB
Technical: col 104m
Director: Vadim Jean, Gary Sinyor
Cast: Mark Frankel, Gina Bellman, Brian Glover, Connie Booth, Janet Suzman

Synopsis:

A Jewish estate agent from London learns that his sperm donor father is in fact a Yorkshire pig farmer, a traumatic discovery for any son of Abraham, as indeed it proves for his family and girlfriend. Determined to bridge the chasm of hostility, he journeys north to meet his 'other family'.

Review:

This ethno-comedy fights manfully, plugging every Jewish gag in the book, and indeed struggled with equal vigour to get made in the first place, its cast deferring their salaries when the budget demanded it. Some of it sticks all right, but one wonders if it was worth it all the same.
