A mutant appears to mount an attempt on the President's life, but in fact is being controlled by Magneto, who wants to precipitate a confrontation with the humans. Meanwhile, Stryker, the man responsible for Wolverine's transformation, is bent on uncovering the location of Xavier's school for mutants, with a similar aim in sight, though with the opposite final objective.
