A Lonely Place to Die (2011)

£0.00

Country: GB
Technical: col/2.35:1 99m
Director: Julian Gilbey
Cast: Melissa George, Ed Speleers, Sean Harris

Synopsis:

A group of climbers in a remote Scottish glen come across a Serbian girl imprisoned in a hole, and soon find themselves hunted by her kidnappers. Meanwhile, a courier makes his way with a ransom, escorted by two former soldiers employed by the father as troubleshooters.

Review:

Beginning like The Descent and culminating in one of those multi-cornered face-offs beloved of thriller writers, this impressively staged and hard-hitting piece wastes little time on character. With the cast mostly reduced to cyphers, and the script striking few if any sparks, much rests dramatically on Alison’s shoulders, as the tough but maternal final girl.
