The Kitchen Toto (1987)
Country: GB
Technical: col 95m
Director: Harry Hook
Cast: Bob Peck, Phyllis Logan, Edwin Mahinda
Synopsis:
Around 1950, Kenya: a preacher's son is victim both of a nationalistic tribe of his own people and the whites with whom he takes refuge.
Review:
Good, but like many British films of the decade a string of dramatic incidents rather than a dynamic whole, and the downbeat ending seems oddly perfunctory. Appearing about the same time as White Mischief, this at least had white characters who were balanced representations.
