Kidnapped (1959)
Country: GB/US
Technical: col 97m
Director: Robert Stevenson
Cast: Peter Finch, James MacArthur, Bernard Lee, John Laurie, Niall MacGinnis
Synopsis:
In the mid-eighteenth century, during the Jacobite rebellion, a young man is kidnapped, cheated of his inheritance, and shanghaied aboard a vessel. When all seems lost he meets Alan Breck Stewart, with whom he escapes and flees across the highlands.
Review:
Atmospheric Disney version, using British locations, an American lead and the excellent Peter Finch. Whips along at a good pace, and follows the book pretty closely, too.
