Kafka (1991)

£0.00

Country: US/FR
Technical: bw/col 98m
Director: Steven Soderbergh
Cast: Jeremy Irons, Theresa Russell, Joel Grey, Jeroen Krabbé

Synopsis:

A timid insurance clerk with a passion for writing finds that life begins to mirror the paranoid fantasies of his work.

Review:

Unhappily the appearance of Ian Holm reminds one uncomfortably of parallels with Brazil (qv.), for this is a very different film in its general bleakness of tone, and with its washed out characters. The unexplained attacks by apparent victims of The Quatermass Experiment, however, count as one reference too many, along with Welles and Godard.
