Iron Man 2 (2010)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col/2.35:1 124m
Director: Jon Favreau
Cast: Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Scarlet Johansson, Sam Rockwell, Mickey Rourke, Samuel L. Jackson, Jon Favreau

Synopsis:

Iron Man's survival, and the security of the free world, is under threat when the demented son of a Soviet physicist succeeds in mimicking the technology pioneered by Stark industries.

Review:

More comic strip nonsense in which no one bothers to try to explain the science involved. Instead the franchise treads water by dangling the possibilities of the hero's imminent death and a long-delayed romance with his assistant Pepper Potts. Fortunately the star's self-deprecating style does the material some service, and the central action highlight of a terrorized Monte Carlo Grand Prix is suitably jaw-dropping, even if the denouement is routine. Quite whether it deserves all the expense and talent lavished on it is another matter.
