Country: HK
Technical: col/2.35:1 101m
Director: Andrew Lau Wai-Keung, Alan Mak Siu-Fai
Cast: Tony Leung, Andy Lau, Anthony Wong, Eric Tsang

Synopsis:

Police and criminal gang both have a mole in the enemy camp, each ignorant of the other's identity. Their bosses would dearly like to know too.

Review:

Claustrophobically shot, intensely acted cop show on a well-worn theme. It takes itself even more seriously than the thriller to which its western title makes punning reference, and the change of pace from Woo-style shoot-em-ups made it a ferocious hit domestically and a shot in the arm to the ailing indigenous film industry, spawning two sequels in as many years.
