Inception (2010)

£0.00

Country: US/GB
Technical: col/2.35:1 148m
Director: Christopher Nolan
Cast: Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ellen Page, Tom Hardy, Ken Watanabe, Cillian Murphy, Tom Berenger, Marion Cotillard, Michael Caine

Synopsis:

A team of operatives who engage in industrial espionage by invading their targets' subconscious take on the daring task of implanting a thought in the mind of the heir to the most powerful energy-producing company in the world with the aim of inducing him to break up his late father's assets.

Review:

Many films have dealt with the world of dreams or the unconscious (cf. Dreamscape) but few have made the play with reality and illusion so much part of the warp and weft of the screenplay (The Matrix inevitably comes to mind, but also the same director's Memento in its circular structure and pay-off). This one acquits itself with considerable aplomb and moves so pacily it leaves little time to ponder its implausibilities.
